Davina is an older lady who is not very social; she doesn’t really look for much contact with the other monkeys, she is most of the time on her own, ‘doing her own thing’ such as chasing flies and other impossible missions that keep her busy.

She is the lowest in rank in the large group leaded by Coki, meaning that she is last to get to the food. Surely the caretakers always take this in account and feed in such a way that all the monkeys can get to it, also davina. yet she remains thin and shy. We think its the result of her trauma in her former life as topeng monyet, when she was enclosed in a dark box and her baby monkeys were always torn away from her at early age to be trained to become a Topeng Monyet.

For the whole JAAN team, Davina really has a special place in our heart, knowing that she has been through so much and we try to give her now a happy life which she had been craving for so long. Due to Davina’s condition, the veterinarians at JAAN know her the best as well as she has been undergoing various surgical procedures and treatments and we are happy to say that she is now healthy and seems happier as well.
