Yes they look adorable & seem like the best pet ever, but the reality of a Slow Loris’s life before being sold as a pet is extremely cruel & by purchasing a Slow Loris, you are directly supporting this cruelty.
First of all, All Slow Loris’s you see in the ‘markets’ have been taken directly from their homes in the wild. They are then shoved into metal cages & their teeth are then clipped, usually with rusty nail clippers or plies, with no anesthesia & no medical care. The conditions of the markets where they are sold are horrendous. Its extremely hot & these sensitive, nocturnal creatures are forced to be out in the sunlight to be sold. They are almost never offered proper water or food.
The Slow Loris is yet another victim of the cruel illegal wildlife trade. You can read more about the trade here. By being a Slow Loris you are directly supporting this trade of wild animals as another Slow Loris has to take its place, meaning ANOTHER wild Slow Loris will be caught & will have to suffer the horrible torture before being sold.
Do not buy a Slow Loris’s or any wild animals as you will be DIRECTLY supporting the illegal trade of wildlife. We need to shut these cruel markets down & the only way is to stop supporting them!
