Characteristics: Friendly, enthusiastic, energetic, she prefers to divide her time between indoors and outdoors, but will happily stay outside if preferred.

Kelly’s story: Kelly was brought up in Jakarta by an Australian family that loved and cared for her well. They had to leave the country and had planned to take her, but circumstances ended up making that impossible.  She is staying with a foster family until she finds a home. She is a happy dog, liked by all that meet her. Even the foster’s guards are very fond of her, and requested they did not kennel her when they traveled, as they enjoy her company. The fosters have been minding her for about 6 months, and  would consider letting her stay except that their two year old son has developed a dog allergy, so sadly it is unworkable.

Gentle chocolate Doberman for Adoption Name Brahma Age 12 months, Fully Vaccinated and sterilized.
Very affectionate, looks and sounds extremely intimidating will bark at strangers but is easily introduced. Never snarls at anyone. Happy with children under supervision.  Training: Sits and stays to all persons 100 percent runs to heel without any pulling. Will bark on command for owner. One bark from Brahma is enough to stop intruder.

Basco and Zoia need a new home.  After 12 years in Jakarta their owner has been transferred to Cayman Islands.  The vet has advised that neither dog would survive the trip and subsequent quarantine.  Basco is an indoor dog and Zoia (blue eyes) is an outdoor dog.  Both have wonderful dispositions and it is heartbreaking for the owner to have to leave them.  Can you help?  please contact JAAN at info@jakartanimalaid.com

Yes, the practice of Topeng Monyet is now illegal but there are still hundreds of monkeys forced to perform on Jakarta streets.  Shutting down this activity takes time and JAAN is working on it monkey-by-monkey.  You can help support our efforts “adopting” a monkey.  Your contribution of 2 million rp will cover the costs for one monkey for  medical check including blood tests, treatment, transportation to the Cikananga Rescue Center in Sukabumi and care for  1 year.  Monkeys receive healthy food at the center- and no cigarettes or alcohol, and are socialized with other monkeys.  The goal is to eventually release them in small groups in protected areas so they can live in their natural habitat. JAAN team responds to a report of a python in bad condition in a junk yard in Cilandak.  The snake’s face was infected from repeated attempts to free himself from the wire cage.
